INDIANAPOLIS (May 16, 2022) — myCOI, the industry leader in certificate of insurance (COI) management software, is proud to announce it has been named to the Top Workplaces 2022 list by the Indianapolis Star Top Workplaces program. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a survey administered by Energage LLC.
This honor comes after myCOI leaders implemented multiple changes to improve employee satisfaction, build community, and increase transparency. This included:
- increasing paid time off to a minimum of three weeks
- introducing an optional 4-day workweek
- hosting weekly meetings to celebrate accomplishments and milestones
- creating fireside chats to promote transparent communication
- empowering a group of employee volunteers to form a group focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion
- establishing an Innovation Station where employees could provide ideas for changes to the company, its processes, or its software.
Additionally, myCOI developed and launched a Leadership in Training program with the help of ADVISA, an Indiana company specializing in leadership development. The strategic skills-based training provides learning initiatives tailored to meet teammates’ needs at all levels of the company.
In order to get a clear picture of employee satisfaction, myCOI also began utilizing Fishers-based Emplify’s employee-engagement software. Through weekly engagement surveys and comprehensive quarterly engagement surveys, Emplify confirmed the company’s employee satisfaction had steadily improved over time. myCOI also achieved the ‘Highly Engaged’ team distinction for four consecutive quarters.
“We’ve always been a people-first business, but within the past few years, we’ve been hyper-focused on our people,” says myCOI CEO Kristen Nunery. “This focus has allowed us to truly hear what is important to everyone on the myCOI team, and take action. We’ve worked to create opportunities to celebrate one another, empower one another and grow together. To be among the city’s top workplaces is a true honor, and one we couldn’t possibly receive without the vulnerability, hard work and commitment of our people.”
The anonymous survey myCOI team members completed as part of the awards program asked questions related to 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of an organization, including: alignment, execution, and connection.
“During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business.”
The Top Workplaces distinction comes just weeks after myCOI won the TechPoint Exceptional Employer Mira Award. TechPoint, the nonprofit, industry-led growth accelerator for Indiana’s tech ecosystem, selected myCOI as one of 16 award winners among 125 total nominees in multiple categories.
